Martha Maxine Bunton

Martha Maxine Bunton, 97, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, Nevada. She was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Ethel, Mo., to Drew Montgomery Lindley and Della Souther Lindley. She married Richard Lee Bunton on July 27, 1941, in Bucklin, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Maxine grew up in Bucklin where she lived nearly all her life. She was a graduate of the Bucklin High School Class of 1931 and later graduated from University of Missouri -Columbia with a B.S. in education. She taught high school in Bucklin for several years. Maxine worked for her husband, Dr. R.L. Bunton, as a dental receptionist for many years until his retirement. She was a member of the Bucklin Christian Church and Chapter BE of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Bucklin. Maxine spent the past three years at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, Nevada.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Thomas R. Bunton and his wife, Anne, Nevada; two grandsons, David Bunton and his wife, Jessica, St. Charles, Mo., and Chris Bunton and his wife, Holly, Chicago, Ill.; and one great-grandson, Riley Bunton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons and one sister, Catherine Rose Warner.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at Bucklin Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Bucklin Masonic Cemetery, Bucklin, Mo.
