Cathy Lynn Davis

Cathy Lynn Davis, 54, Nevada, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 26, 1958, in Portland, Ore., to Elmer Leroy Morris and Peggy Carl Morris. She was married March 17, 1981, in Quincy, Mo., to James A. Davis and he survives of the home.

Cathy graduated from Weaubleau High School in Weaubleau, Mo., in 1976. She worked as a hair stylist all her life. She came to Nevada, from Joplin, Mo., in 1998 and lived the remainder of her life here. She had worked, for eight years, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada retiring in 2006 due to illness. Cathy was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada.

In addition to her husband, Jim, survivors include two daughters, Amber Shelton and her husband, Travis, Nevada, and Summer Davis, of Nevada; eight grandchildren, Sierra Hedrick, Tessa Davis, Quinton Shorter, Kendan Davis, Braxton Davis, Leta Shelton, Airaleas Davis and Cathryn Shelton; two brothers, Danny Morris, Lowry City, Mo., and Jeff Morris, Neosho, Mo.; one sister, Susan Anderson, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
