AAA Red Sox head to Pittsburg today

The Nevada Red Sox AAA American Legion baseball team will compete at the Pittsburg Wood Bat Tournament today at Jaycee Ballpark. The tourney is hosted by Pittsburg Post 64 and runs through Sunday.

There are eight teams in the tourney and there are two pools. Pool A features Pittsburg, Nevada, Springfield Kickapoo and Kansas City Ward. Pool B features Neosho, Carthage, Blue Valley West and the Pittsburg Senior Babe Ruth team.

The Red Sox (2-0) will take on Pittsburg today at 2 p.m. Nevada plays again at 4 vs. KC Ward, with Pittsburg and KC Ward playing at 6 p.m.

Nevada returns to the tourney on Saturday for a 4 p.m. game with Kickapoo. Sunday's games will be determined by the pool play.
