Western Missouri Dispatch Center personnel, city and county officials and representatives of the local law enforcement community gathered on the first floor of the Vernon County Courthouse, April 3, to witness the proclamation of the week of April 8-11 as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. Participants in the proclamation signing lauded the center and the quality of what dispatch center director Richard Roark called "a very good staff." Nevada City Manager J.D. Kehrman said people have come to expect 911 service as a part of the city's infrastructure and Presiding Commissioner Bonnie McCord said, "I'm proud that we've come to that point where we can provide that to our city."
