Katy Allen Lake needs improvements

Friday, June 15, 2012

Dear Editor:

I would like to invite the county commissioners and their families to the beautiful Katy Allen Lake, where their grandchildren can enjoy the trash and broken glass that surround the lake and sit on rotted picnic tables.

There are no trash barrels, which I was told would be brought in more than a month ago.

After several calls to the county commissioners, I get the same answer, "we will get right on it." But nothing happens.

And while you are there, check out the bathroom where the door is torn off, the seat is rotted out and the containment bin is full of trash. It should be condemned. If it were on an individual's property, it would be.

What do you suppose travelers think when they stop to rest at the lake and find this mess? Where do our county tax dollars go?

Just remember, elections are coming up.

As Earl Pitts used to say "Wake up America," let's "Wake up Nevada."
