Arvilla Louise Hogan, 92, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She was born April 9, 1920, in Rich Hill, Mo., to Jesse Arrasmith and Iona Christopher Arrasmith. She was married May 27, 1938, in Nevada, to Emmett M. Hogan and he preceded her in death Nov. 11, 2006.

Louise was reared in Rich Hill, Mo., and attended school there. She lived in Metz for a number of years and came to Nevada in 1954. Louise worked as a seamstress at Edmiston's in Nevada for several years and then for the Nevada State Hospital as a seamstress for 20 years, until her retirement in 1976. Louise loved her family very much and greatly enjoyed her time spent with them.

Survivors include four children, Beverly Fox and her husband, Jack, Milo, Mo., Joy Preston and her husband, John, Nevada, Jerry Hogan and his wife, Rhoda, San Antonio, Texas, and Marilyn Moore and her husband, Larry, Springfield, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Lynda Hogan, Nevada; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Chuck Hogan; one grandson, Darren Preston; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Harris and April Jenkins; one brother, Henry Arrasmith; and one sister, Altona Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Revs. Chad Bailey and Steve Knoll officiating. Interment will follow at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 22, between 5 and 6 p.m.
