Kathryn Lynn Woody, 53, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo. She was born Jan. 30, 1959, in Independence, Mo., to Charles Edward Steele and Rose M. Stevens Steele.

Kathryn came to Montevallo at the age of 15 with her family and attended El Dorado Springs High School. She managed Nevada Fuel Mart in Nevada for a number of years. Kathryn received her G.E.D. and later graduated from Vatterott College in Joplin. She became a certified pharmacy technician and worked at the Nevada Regional Medical Center Pharmacy until her illness. She lived most of her life in Nevada.

Survivors include her husband, Denny Coffman, of the home; four children, Kristy Lane, Virgil City, Mo., Malissa Sumner, Nevada, Heather Berning and her husband, Branden, Milo, Mo., and Lisa Ruby and her husband, Shane, Lyons, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Savannah Mendez and her husband, José, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Brianna Jones, Charles Royce Johnston, Ryan Borders, Waylen Harth, Weston Harth, Jordan-Michael Woody, Brian Mendez, and Isabel Mendez; five brothers, Ron Edwards and his wife, Susan, Lee's Summit, Mo., Marty Edwards, Lee's Summit, Mo., Steve Edwards, Montevallo, Mo., Mark Steele and his wife, Leslie, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Rick Steele and his wife, Terry, Lee's Summit, Mo.; her mother, Rose Current, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Charles D. Steele and Billy Edwards.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in Virgil City Cemetery, Virgil City, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given, in her memory, to the Kansas City Hospice House or the American Diabetes Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
