Lady Tigers defeat Thomas Jefferson at home

The Nevada Lady Tigers tennis team picked up its second straight 6-3 victory Thursday as Thomas Jefferson High School took to the courts at Nevada High School.
Regan Kimbrough got things going with an 8-5 victory over Ophelia Chen -- a state qualifier from last year -- and Kierstin Lanham and Lauren Baker followed suit, winning their singles matches by the final scores of 8-6 and 8-2, respectively. Janell Hawks got a win by default in the final singles match of the evening.
Baker and Jessica DeCocq added the Lady Tigers' first win in doubles play, beating Chen and Thisbe Scholfield, 8-4. Abbie Landoll and Payne won their doubles match by default.
The Lady Tigers are set to take the courts again on Tuesday, Sept. 4, when they take on Carthage at 4:30 p.m.
