Landan Mark Bland, 3, received his angel wings Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, after a brave battle with brain cancer. He passed away in his home surrounded by close friends and family. Landan was born in Springfield, Mo., Oct. 17, 2008, to Ed and Carrie (Havens) Bland, whose lives he filled with love and Legos. His smile brightened every room he entered and his strength inspired everyone who knew him. He was greeted in heaven by his pawpaw Mark Havens who will guide him to all the best fishing holes, and who will finally learn from Landan what a Ninjago is.

He is survived by his parents and his sister, Ellie, all of Springfield, Mo.; maternal grandmothers, Judy Havens of Springfield, Mo., and Beverly (Yarbough) Havens of Springfield, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Gaylen and Jane Bland of Willard, Mo., Judy Bland of Springfield, Mo., and Ralph and Nancy Ragan of Peculiar, Mo.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with the Rev. Troy Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Bass Chapel Cemetery in Greene County, Mo. Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memphis, Tenn., or The Landan Bland Fund in care of Great Southern Bank.
