Three hurt in Tuesday crash

Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 54, about 4 miles west of Nevada.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 12:40 p.m., a 2007 Dodge Caliber, driven by 83-year-old Gladys M. Halcomb, Nevada, was eastbound in the westbound lanes and struck a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, driven by 70-year-old Virginia A. Frazier, Nevada, head-on.
Halcomb was transported via private vehicle to Nevada Regional Medical Center. Frazier and Sharon S. Wyckoff, 67, of Nevada, were transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center.
Several motorists stopped to see what they could do, including a group of National Guardsmen traveling west at the time of the crash, who were observed assisting at the scene.
