Ross Lawrence, of Hoffman Financial Resources, is joining the executive board of directors for the Nevada/Vernon County Area Chamber of Commerce.

In January, Board member Vince Caswell resigned his post due to a promotion and relocation with his long-time employer, the 3M Company.

The nominating committee of the executive board of directors nominated Chamber Ambassador Ross Lawrence to fill Caswell's vacancy. After extending the invitation to Lawrence, he accepted his new role and responsibilities. This interim position and term will expire at the end of 2013.

Lawrence is currently an LPL financial advisor with Hoffman Financial Resources. Ross earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in 2011. He majored in financial management/investment with a minor in business management.

Ross has held positions at Merrill Lynch: Global Wealth Management and the Fayetteville, Ark., Chamber of Commerce. He is currently serving on the board of United Way of Vernon County, as well as the Ducks Unlimited committee. He is also a member of the Nevada Rotary Club.

Gina Ensor, chamber of commerce executive director, said, "Ross has been a huge asset to the chamber as an ambassador, and I am thrilled to work with him in his new role as a board member. His dedication to the chamber is undeniable. His positive nature and leadership within our community has already been an asset to this organization. "

The Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce meets the third Wednesday of every month from noon until 1 p.m. Lawrence will attend his first executive board meeting Feb. 20.
