Joshua R. and Kelsey J. Westerhold

Kelsey Jo Hancock and Joshua Roy Westerhold exchanged wedding vows June 9, 2012, in a double- ring, outdoor ceremony, at the rural Sheldon home of the bride's brother and wife, Justin and Sarah Hancock. Parents of the couple are Kathy Claflin and Vincent Ashworth, Sheldon, and Jack and Renea Westerhold, Metz. Grandparents of the couple are Tom and Janie Claflin, Sheldon, Irene Hancock, Sarcoxie and Don Steuck, Nevada.

Given in marriage by her parents and her family, the bride was escorted to the alter by her Papa Tom Claflin. Vows were solemnized by Mark Harwell, St. Joseph. Sarah Hancock, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor and Kim Grewe, Katlyn Logan and Brooke Longstreth, all friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Spencer Thompson, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jared Westerhold, brother of the groom and Tyler Greer, friend of the groom.

Caitlin and Carly Claflin, cousins of the bride, served as candle lighters. Mallory Yokley, friend of the bride, and Mason Todd, friend of the groom, were the flower girl and ring bearer. Ushers and parking attendants were Justin Hancock, brother of the bride, Charles Claflin, uncle of the bride and Cody Claflin, cousin of the bride. Guest book and gift table attendant was Melody Bailey, friend of the bride. Jeremy and Nikki Brand, friends of the couple, photographed the event and Gene Leininger, friend of the bride, videotaped the ceremony and reception. Wedding coordinators and personal attendants for the bride and her bridal party were Lori Yokley and Trisha Bobbett, friends of the bride. Heather Klingaman, friend of the groom, and Megan Westerhold, cousin of the groom, served as personal attendants for the groom and his party.

Floral arrangements for the wedding featuring a peacock feather theme were professionally arranged by Terry and Katlyn Logan, friends and cousins of the bride and groom. Ashley Leininger, friend of the bride, coordinated wedding music before, during and after the ceremony.

The reception, following the ceremony at the Nevada Elk's Lodge bingo hall, featured dinner catered by Chicken Annie's, dancing and a photo booth. Wedding cake and punch attendants were Michelle Claflin, aunt of the bride, and Shylo Webb, Heather Adams and Alyssa Bailey, friends of the bride.

The couple reside in Sheldon where the bride is employed as a quality control inspector at Sugar Creek Packing, Frontenac, Kan., and the groom is a policeman with the Nevada Police Department. They have plans for an extended honeymoon at a later date.
