Region XVI tourney to begin Saturday

SEDALIA, Mo. -- The Cottey College Comets basketball team is scheduled to play the Lady Archers of St. Louis Community College at 4 p.m., Saturday, in the NJCAA D-II Region XVI semifinals at State Fair Community College.

Head coach Dave Ketterman's squad finished the regular season 16-3 overall, 5-3 against Region XVI rivals. The Lady Archers were 6-2 against regional rivals, but both losses came at the hands of the Comets.

The Lady Scouts of Penn Valley Community College earned the top seed in the tournament and are scheduled to play the winner of Saturday's game between Wentworth and North Central Missouri College in the other semifinal contest.
