Betty Jeanne Adams Easley

Betty Easley passed from this life to eternal life with her Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2013, her family at her side. She will be sorely missed by her family and large circle of friends. Betty was born in West Plains, grew up in Kansas City and attended the University of Missouri. After college she moved to West Plains where she met the love of her life Robert Easley and they were united in marriage on Sept. 5, 1948. They were married more than 50 years before he joined the Lord on Feb. 15, 1999.

She taught school before having three beloved daughters and making a beautiful home for her family. Betty and Bob retired to Nevada in 1979. Her dedication to her family, friends, church and community were the cornerstone of her life. She was an active board member and volunteer for the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund and was honored as a Board Member Emeritus. Betty served on the Meals on Wheels Board and delivered meals for many years. She was an officer in the P.E.O. sisterhood and enjoyed the local Diana's Club. Her friends at the United Methodist Church, her bridge group and Research Club were an important part of her life. As her final gift to the community, Betty was an organ donor.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Rama Adams; daughters and sons-in-law, Robyn and Doug Tuttle, Cathy and George Morgan, Stacy and Dan Sontheimer; grandchildren, Erin and Shannon Tuttle, George, Rebecca and Sarah Morgan, Katherine and Nicholas Sontheimer; and her faithful friend and companion Obie. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Easley; her mother and father, Margaret and Joe Adams; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Fred Renwick.

The visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the United Methodist Church of Nevada. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, at 10 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Nevada with the Rev. Linda Pagel officiating. Interment will be in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
