Nevada Invitational track and field meet canceled

The Testman Track at Nevada High School will not host the 15th annual Nevada Invitational track and field meet this year.

The meet was originally scheduled for this past Saturday, but inclement weather forced it to be moved back to today. Thanks to the winter weather that moved through the area over the weekend and forced the first postponement, however, the track continues to be snow-covered and as a result, the meet has been officially called off.

Tigers coaches Robert Watts and Marsha Hooper said there were no open dates to reschedule the meet as of Monday afternoon. Next on the schedule for the NHS track team is Thursday, when the Tigers are scheduled to head out on the road to compete at Carthage High School, weather and track conditions permitting.
