Edward Bernard Meisenheimer, 81, Milo, Mo., passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013, at his home in Milo, following a lengthy illness. He was born April 21, 1931, in Orient, Iowa, to Merlin T. Meisenheimer and Theresia A. Karhoff Meisenheimer. He was married to Norma Rodgers Meisenheimer and to this union his children were born. He later married Ruth Ann Pursley Meisenheimer who preceded him in death on March 15, 2005.

Ed was raised in Iowa and graduated from Creston, Iowa, High School. He came to Nevada in 1964 from Kansas City, Kan. Ed drove his own truck for many years and managed rental property in Nevada for a number of years. Following his retirement in 2006, he traveled the county in his RV. Ed also loved to fish. He was a member of the Nevada Elks Lodge BPO No. 564, a lifetime member of Nevada Eagles Lodge No. 770, and the Nevada Osage Masonic Lodge No. 3003.

Survivors include four sons, Charles D. Thomas, Nevada, Dick Meisenheimer, Milo, Dale Meisenheimer, Nevada, and Jim Meisenheimer, Oak Grove, Mo.; three daughters, Donna Moore, Nevada, Debra Dahmer, Durango, Colo., and Connie Hartline, Nevada; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Helen Brasher, Liberty, Mo.; one brother, Don Meisenheimer, Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann; one sister, Betty Scism; and two brothers, James Lee Meisenheimer and Gene Meisenheimer.

A memorial service followed by the Elks Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 10-11 a.m., Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund or Vernon County People for Pets in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
