El Dorado Christian track team ends season with two first-place trophies

In addition to 33 medals -- 18 gold -- the girls brought home the first-place trophy.

The El Dorado Christian School track teams traveled to Johnson County Community College on May 10, to compete in the 2013 ISAAC Track Meet.

Daniel King led the boys' team with a total of five medals; gold in the 200- and 400-meter dash, gold in the 4x400-meter medley relay, silver in the 100-meter dash and bronze in the high jump. Senior Hans Miller won gold in the 1,600-meter run, gold in the 4x400-meter medley relay, silver in the high jump, and a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash.

Junior Tanner Daniel won gold in the 4x400-meter medley relay, bronze in the 200-meter dash and placed fifth in the long jump. Sophomore Ian Allison won gold in the 4x400-meter medley relay, and placed fifth in the 200-meter dash.

El Dorado Christian claimed the first-place team trophy, along with 26 medals.

Dayton Robison placed second in the discus with a throw of 87 feet, 3 1/2 inches and won a bronze medal in the 4x100-meter relay. Freshman Ben Middleton won a silver medal in the 400-meter dash and placed fourth in the high jump, while his brother, Michael Middleton, took the bronze in the seventh-grade 4x100-meter relay.

Seth McKinney placed fifth in the 1,600-meter run, took the silver in the 4x400-meter relay and bronze in the 4x200-meter relay. Seventh-grader Caleb Jones got the silver in the 4x400 relay and bronze in the 4x200 relay.

Colten Pike, also in seventh grade, took the silver in the 4x400 relay and bronze in the 4x200 and 4x100 relays. Drew Steuck, seventh grade, took the silver in the 4x400 relay, bronze in the 4x200 relay and bronze in the 4x100 relay.

Senior Jessica Jones won gold in the 4x200 relay, gold in the 800-meter medley, silver in the long jump and silver in the 100-meter dash. Bailee Bybee, also a senior, brought home gold in the shot put with a throw of 26-2 and in the 4x100 relay, and bronze medals in the discus and high jump.

Junior Brooke Bland not only won gold in the 800-meter run, but also set a new school record. She also won gold in the 4x200 relay and the 800-meter medley and silver in the 400-meter dash.

Sarah McKinney won gold in the 4x200 relay and the 800-meter medley; took silver in the 1,600-meter run and placed fifth in the 200-meter dash. Lindsay Daniel won gold in the 4x100 relay, silver in the 800-meter run and bronze in the 1,600-meter run.

Dayton Robison wins the silver medal in the discus with a throw of 87 feet, 3 1/2 inches.

Junior Christanne Middleton won gold in the 4x200 relay and the discus with a throw of 80 feet, silver in both the 200-meter dash and the high jump and bronze in the long jump. Freshman Chaney Housh won gold in the long jump with a jump of 14-5, the 800-meter medley and the high jump and silver in the discus.

Paige Dobbs won a gold medal in the 4x100 relay. Seventh-grader Abigail Batson won gold medals in the 1,600-meter run and the 400x100 relay and bronze medals in the 100-meter dash and the 400-meter dash.
