Robert Anthony Micklich II

Robert Anthony Micklich II, 58, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Freeman Health System West, in Joplin, Mo., following a short illness. He was born June 29, 1954, in Nevada, to Robert Anthony Micklich I, and Rosia Crosby Micklich. He married Rosemary Highley on Dec. 14, 1985, in Athens, Texas, and she survives of the home.

Robert was born and raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School. He lived his entire life in this area other than the time he spent serving our country in the United States Army from 1981-1993. Following the service, Robert made his living doing contracting work in Nevada and the surrounding areas. He enjoyed all outdoor activities especially hunting, fishing, and activities with his family. Robert was always concerned with the well-being of his family and extended family. He was very generous to others.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Rosemary, include one son, Robert Anthony Micklich III, Nevada; one daughter, Melissa N. Micklich, Webb City, Mo.; two brothers, Allen Lee Micklich, Nevada, and Tony H. Micklich and his wife, Doris, El Dorado Springs; and two sisters, Yvonne A. Chrisenbery and her husband, Frank, Richards, Mo., and Sonya K. Highley, Milo, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Sam Smith; and one brother-in-law, Warren E. Highley Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Travis Cole officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., today, at the funeral home.
