County man hurt in wreck

A Moundville man was injured during a two-car crash that happened on Vernon County Road 1250, about six miles southwest of Nevada, Saturday afternoon.

According to a report by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Leemasters, Corey Wintjen, 37, received a minor injury when his southbound 1992 Saturn SL1 collided with a northbound 1998 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Brenton Handly, 23, of Nevada.

Leemasters said both lost control of their vehicles on loose gravel and the two vehicles collided.

Wintjen was transported to the Nevada Regional Medical Center and Handly was not injured, according to the report.
