Jim Keith, 64, Richards, Mo., passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, in Bourbon County, Kan., following an automobile accident. He was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Alfred Allen Keith and Thelma Florence Bloesser Keith. He married Becky Sheehy on June 3, 1967, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Jim was raised in the Richards and Stotesbury area. He graduated from Richards High School in 1966 and farmed his whole life. Jim worked for W.A. "Pup" Jones Construction driving a bulldozer and later had his own operation, Jim's Custom Dozing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Richards. Jim enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking especially "fish frying," and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Becky, include one son, Jeff Keith and Barbara, Richards; one daughter, Candy Ann Thurston and her husband, Bobby, Richards; two grandchildren, Tyler Thurston and Kelsi Thurston; one brother, Bill Keith and his wife, Ruby, Fort Scott, Kan.; one sister, Dena Gotschall and her husband, Gooch, Richards; several nieces and nephews; his favorite companion, his dog "Luke"; and his many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bryan Keith officiating. A private committal will be held at East Liberty Cemetery, Stotesbury, at a later date.

Contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for his grandchildren or to the Ronald McDonald House in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
