Frances Eleanor Olson

Frances Eleanor Olson, 92, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1921, in Richards, Mo., to Oscar Swan and Nina Alice McCoy Swan. She married Ludwig Franklin Olson on Sept. 25, 1939, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2008.

Eleanor was raised in Richards and attended the Durham School. She worked many years for Nellie Don and Key Work Clothes until her retirement. Eleanor loved gardening, reading, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Gayle Archer and her husband, Doug, Archie, Mo., Lynne Olson-Salomon, Butler, Mo., and Alan Olson and his wife, Pat, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Neale Swan and Gordon Swan, both of Nevada; one sister, Fern Pratt, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Swan and Kenneth Swan.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with Dennis Painter officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
