Davis wins at River City Rodeo Championship

Cash Davis, Eureka, Kan., won the Champion Mutton Bustin' at the Ak-Sar-Ben River City Rodeo and Stock Show at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb., Sept. 26-28.

The Ak-Sar-Ben River City Rodeo, also host to the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour Championships, attracts many of the world's best rodeo cowboys and entertainers.

Some of the entered rodeo cowboys and cowgirls that competed during the championships included Trevor Brazile, Bobby Mote, Tuf Cooper, Sherry Cervi, Mary Walker, and J.W. Harris.

Davis won first place on Thursday evening, making him eligible for the Justin Boots Championship Rodeo Finals on Saturday, Sept. 28.

After competing at the Finals, and earning a score of 88, he was named the 2013 Champion Mutton Bustin' winner and was awarded a belt buckle, shirt, trophy and a pair of Justin boots.

He is the 8-year-old son of Tim and Amanda Davis, Eureka, Kan. He is the grandson of Rodney Pope, Moundville, Mo., Tony and Cathy Haynes, Rolla, and Kenny and Opal Davis, Nevada. Cash is the great-grandson of Gene and Sheila Mitts, Nevada, and Leonard and Bonnie Pope, Moundville.
