Nevada tennis defeats Clinton at home, 5-2

The Nevada Lady Tigers tennis team entered postseason play Monday afternoon, at Nevada High School, and put forth a strong performance in the first round of the district play. The Lady Tigers defeated Clinton, 5-2, to stay alive in the Class 1, District 12 tournament. Kierstin Lanham, Megan Payne, Nikiya Feezell and Ellie Pruitt won their singles matches and Lize Smith and Feezell teamed up for a win in the No. 3 doubles match. The Lady Tigers were scheduled to get right back into action Tuesday, at Harrisonville, in the tournament semi-finals, but those results were not available at press time.
