Martha Jane O'Connor

Martha Jane O'Connor, 74, Nevada, Mo., passed away at her residence on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born on Feb. 25, 1939, in Nevada, Mo. to William Henry Hendrix and Bessie W. Koehler Hendrix. She was married to Lewis Weber in 1957, and was later married to Daniel O'Connor on Dec. 15, 1970, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1994.

Martha was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1957. She was a beautician and enjoyed playing cards, cross stitching and spending time with her family.

Survivors include 10 children, Cindy Thomas and her husband, Arthur, Rich Hill, Mo., Loyd Weber, and his wife, Debbie, Silvis, Ill., Mindy Starbuck and her husband, Gary, Sheldon, Mo., Kathy Meyer and Curtis Gose, Nevada, Becky Valdez, Nevada, Mickey Conner, Kansas City, Mo., Gary Conner, Kansas City, Mo., Danny Joe Conner, Kansas City, Mo., Debbie Cauthon, Marshall, Mo., and Bryan Conner, Kansas City, Mo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; four brothers, Gordon Hendrix, Don Hendrix, Carl Hendrix, and Jack Hendrix; three sisters, Rosalie Kelley, Mary Ellen Kimberling, and Bonnie Powell.

She is also preceded in death by two sons, Gary Weber and Raymond Conner; daughter, Susan Gordon; two grandchildren, Carmen Starbuck and Jacob Dailey; and two great-grandchildren, Devin Ellifritz and Hannah Lamb; 11 brothers, Herman Hendrix, Bob Hendrix, Louis Hendrix, Bill Hendrix, Loyd Hendrix, Paul Hendrix, Joe Hendrix, Larry Hendrix, James Hendrix, Roger Hendrix, Stanley Hendrix; and one sister, Anna Mae Garsky.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Friends may call now until the hour of service at the funeral home.
