Terry Wayne Wehmeyer, 68, Nevada, Mo., passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, following a short illness. He was born Nov. 22, 1945, in Nevada, to Samuel Vernon Wehmeyer and Bettie Elizabeth Garfield Wehmeyer.

Terry as we knew him lived around the Nevada area all his life. After being drafted into the Army, he served in the Vietnam War. Following his service years, Terry worked in El Dorado Springs at Cassell Chevrolet where he was a mechanic. Later on in his mechanic career Terry moved to Nevada where he worked at Guthrie's and Karl's Garage. Terry enjoyed many hobbies, from woodworking and just tinkering in the shop, to building racecar motors and spending each Saturday evening at the racetrack.

Survivors include three children, Cindy Corbin and her husband, Renn, Schell City, Mo., Christy Bough and her husband, David, and Devin Wehmeyer and his wife, Missy, both of Nevada; eight grandchildren, Brandi Corbin, Shnya Bough, Scotty Bough and his wife, Tana, Tosha Howe and her husband, Dan, Taylor Wehmeyer, George Rocco, Kallie Hardman, and Tyler Kimzey; two great-grandchildren, Sara Howe, and Kohl Maus; two sisters, Eva Fritts and Linda Wooten; three brothers, Randy Wehmeyer, Gary Wehmeyer, and Bill Wehmeyer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Danny Lee; and one great-grandchild, Alexis Howe.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with interment following in the Click Cemetery, Nevada. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday.
