Five injured in Wednesday evening accident

Five Nevada people received minor to serious injures in a wreck at the intersection of Austin Boulevard and Ash Street Wednesday evening.

Michael Boyd, the driver of an SUV, plus passengers April Boyd and two juveniles, were transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. All were wearing seat belts.

Richard Baynes, the driver of a passenger car, was transported to NRMC with serious injuries. Baynes wore a seat belt.

A semi trailer driven by Richard Keeton, of Lincoln, Ark., was traveling west on Austin and according to Nevada Police Captain Casey Crain violated the red signal. The semi hit the SUV while Boyd was turning left onto Austin. The semi also hit the passenger car while Baynes was turning right onto Austin.
