Lori Lee Newsome

Lori Lee Newsome, 43, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in Sedalia, Mo. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Feb. 4, 1970, to Ricky Joe Newsome and Reva Rose (Cordray) Newsome.

Following her elementary and secondary education, Lorie attended one year of college. She enjoyed crocheting, antiques, and loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Amber Braun and her husband, Joseph, Mindenmines, Mo., and Ashley Pryor, Arma, Kan.; one son, Joshua Smith and his wife, Brittney, Pittsburg, Kan.; five grandchildren, Justyn Braun, Felyx Braun, October Braun, William Smith, and Allannah Smith; and her mother and stepfather, Reva and Douglas Braman, of Arma and Osage City, Kan., respectfully. Preceding her in death were her father, Ricky Joe Newsome; one brother, Ricky Joe Newsome II; and one sister, Shelley Newsome Sands.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., today, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Fox officiating.
