Ronnie Lee Sheehy came into this life in a rural farm house in Vernon County, Mo., June 12, 1942.

Ron lived in Missouri, until he graduated from high school, when he started working for AT&T. He worked for AT&T 28 years and worked in or traveled through 48 of the continental United States. After his retirement, Ron and his family settled in Nevada, Mo. He became very active in Elks Lodge No. 564 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Nevada. When Ron was not at home with family or active in Elks or Eagles, he loved to hunt and fish.

Several years after losing his wife, Judith, to cancer, he met Linda, his current wife, who lived in Texas. He moved to Texas and he and Linda were married in Athens. For the past five years they have resided in Athens. Ron and Linda enjoyed going to Professional Bull Rider shows, rodeos, and the Legends of Western Swing festivals in Wichita Falls. They enjoyed his AT&T reunions and being with friends and family.

Ron departed this life on Jan. 27, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, Athens; mother, Betty Sheehy, Nevada, Mo.; three children, Dallas Masoner, a son, in Chanute, Kan., Roncena Irmal, a daughter, in Union Town, Kan., and Valerie Jorgensen, a daughter, in Bedford, Iowa; adopted sons, Kevin and Scott Sheehy; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a nephew, Kenny Sheehy, Independence, Mo.; and nieces, Karen Lowery, Canyon Country, Calif., and Kriss Renfro, Garden City, Mo.
