Cottey College's Jalilah Cox, Regan Kannady, Kelsey Davidson and Maddie Lugenbeel gather in the gymnasium at Cottey's Hinkhouse Center to sign their letters of intent to return to the Comets volleyball team for their sophomore seasons. The Cottey College Comets volleyball team solidified more of its roster Tuesday morning, when head coach Marla Kannady Foreman made the signings of Jalilah Cox, Regan Kannady, Kelsey Davidson and Maddie Lugenbeel official. All four players were significant contributors to last year's squad and will join newcomer Sydney Curnes as members of the 2014 squad. Kannady and Davidson were first and third on the team in kills last season, with 127 and 123, respectively. They were also first and third on the team in kills per set and were second and third on the team in digs as Davidson finished with 183 to Kannady's 156. Davidson was first on the team in solo blocks with 43, while Kannady was second with 32. Cox finished with 53 kills, 15 solo blocks and 32 digs, while Lugenbeel led the Comets with 318 assists to Kannady's 211, which was enough for second on the team. Lugenbeel also added 23 ace serves -- second only to Kannady's 29 -- and 144 digs.
