Sandra Lyn Pippin

Sandra Lyn Pippin, 61, of Nevada, Mo., passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 18, 1952, in rural Benton County, Iowa, to Robert Lee and Mildred Evadyne (Moore) Schnedler.

Sandra, along with her family, moved to the Nevada area to be near family early in her life. When she was a sophomore she relocated to the Mokane, Mo., area where she graduated from South Callaway High School in 1970. She spent most of the rest of her life working and traveling. She worked in Missouri, Kansas, and New Mexico, where she also attended college studying accounting, then also spent time in California.

In the early 1990s she came back to Missouri to stay and in 1996, she was united in marriage to Russell E. Pippin. He passed away July 11, 2011. She was most recently employed locally at Cash-n-Dash. Her hobbies included reading, collecting angels, a love of quilts, and most of all -- her love for her dog, Bella. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Nevada, and also was a member of the local American Legion Post.

Survivors include her two sisters, Cheryl Lorenz, of Fulton, and Connie Martin, of Columbia; and one brother, Robert Schnedler of Nevada. Aside from her husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Roger, Richard, and Rodney.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrell Tucker officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., just prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
