Debra Ann Smith, 61, of Nevada, Mo., passed away March 13, 2014, at her daughter's home in Joplin. She was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Nevada, to Robert James and Muriel Joyce (Miller) Smith.

Debra attended school in Nevada graduating with the Class of 1971. In 1975, she was united in marriage to Rick Headley and to their union two children were born. She lived her entire life in Nevada and was employed for 37 years at the First National Bank. She began her employment as a teller and worked her way up to assistant vice president/loan officer, where she was known to be a very faithful and loyal employee. During what spare time she had she loved watching the Food Network. She loved geraniums. She also loved fishing for catfish. But her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren, and spending time with loved ones. She had attended the United Methodist Church in Bronaugh.

Survivors include her companion of many years, John Morris, of the home; daughter, Adrianne Ann Pfeffer and husband, Sean, of Joplin; son, Evan James Headley and wife, Jennifer, of Kansas City; sister, Kathy Jadlot, of St. Louis, Mo.; nephew, Travis Jadlot and wife, Jennifer, of Houston, Texas; grandson, Nicholas Pfeffer; of special mention are John's children, Dewey Morris, and Erin and Dusty Morris and their children, Chloe, Avery, and Kalen; and also her best friends, Terri Morris and Toni Markham; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Debra was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Steve Jadlot; and her brother, Gary James Smith.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, March 20, at the Ferry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.

Contributions may be made in Debra's name to the Bill Renwick Scholarship Fund; Vernon County Cancer Relief; or the Oncology Department at Freeman Hospital in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
