Lawrence Leon Winsby

Lawrence Leon Winsby, 83, Nevada, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Medicalodges, of Nevada, after a lengthy illness. Lawrence was born March 12, 1931, near Little Rock, Ark., to Lawrence Earl Winsby and Eula Willa (Gibson) Winsby. He was united in marriage to Jeanette L. Winsby on May 4, 1950, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2013.

Lawrence grew up in Corpus Christi. After graduating high school and attending college he then lived in a variety of locations including Kansas, Texas, Minnesota, and Missouri, coming to Nevada in 2010. Lawrence was a businessman all his life. He was the owner and operator of Flavor Maid Donut shops in four different locations over a 10 year period.

Survivors include three children, Lawrence Bryan Winsby and his wife, Carol, of Overland Park, Kan., Sharon Davis and her husband, Keith, of Aurora, Colo., and Susan Houser and her husband, Arthur, of Fort Scott, Kan.; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Aside from his wife, Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

A memorial service for Mr. Winsby will be scheduled at a later date at Medicalodges of Nevada at 1210 S. Ashland St., Nevada.
