Paul L. Runion Sr., 83, Independence, Mo., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was surrounded by his family and friends.

Paul was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Lamar, Mo. He owned and operated Accurate Scale Company for more than 50 years. Paul was a member of Colbern Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and reading his bible. He married the love of his life, Betty McGuire, and she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his daughter, Paula Joiner and husband, John, of Spring, Texas; sons, Paul Runion Jr., of Independence, and Tom Runion and wife, Kristy, of Lamar; daughter, Susan Richards and husband, Jim, of Kingsville, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; additional great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Runion; and sister, Darlene Gardner. He was preceded in death by his granddaughters, Kendahl Runion and Amy Robinson; two sisters; two brothers; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, March 31, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, at Mount Washington Cemetery, with his son-in-law, the Rev. Jim Richards officiating.
