Pastor Ed Sheridan, 60, a resident of Dawn, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at his residence.

Pastor Ed was born the son of Eldon and Helen (Dirks) Sheridan on March 2, 1954, in Nevada, Mo. He was a 1972 graduate of Nevada High School, Nevada. After graduating high school he attended Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, Mo., where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in 1977. He then attended Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Kansas City, Kan., and received a master of divinity degree in 1990. Ed became an ordained minister in 1990. After becoming ordained Ed moved to Dawn, Mo., where he became the Pastor of Dawn Federated Church and Ludlow Community Church. He has been the Pastor at both churches for the past 24 years. Pastor Ed also worked as a rural mail carrier. He enjoyed antiquing, and farming cattle with his dad.

Survivors include two adopted sons, Joe Flynn and wife, Marla, of Joplin, Mo., and Jim Flynn, of Manhattan, Kan.; two brothers, James Richard Sheridan and wife Barbara of Kansas City, Missouri, and Larry Gene Sheridan and wife Anne of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister Margaret Ann Johnson and husband Terry of Longmont, Colorado; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Dawn Federated Church, Dawn, Mo., on Sunday, April 13, at 10:30 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, April 12, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Saturday, April 12, from noon until 8 p.m. Burial will be on Monday, April 14, at 10 a.m., at Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
