Linda Joy Craig, 56, of Nevada, Mo., passed away April 18, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. She was born Aug. 20, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Donald Wilbur and Jeanne Marie (Makinen) Craig.

After living most of her early life in Wisconsin, the family moved to Colorado when she was a senior where Linda graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Aurora. She continued to live in Colorado for a short time, then relocated first to Iowa and then to Missouri. For many years she worked in the family's restaurant business which was then Country Kitchen. S

he then attended Fort Scott Community College where she received her AAS as a Registered Nurse in the early 1990s. She worked at various hospitals in Kansas City and Joplin and was also employed locally at the Nevada Regional Medical Center and Heartland. In what spare time she had, Linda enjoyed quilting and shopping. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren and cherished spending time with them.

Survivors include her children, Kevin Thomas Williams and his wife, Bethia, of Carthage, and Kari Michelle Mills and her husband, Gary, of Belton; her mother, Jeanne Marie Craig, of Nevada; brother, Jay Craig and his wife, Maryann, of Brazelton, Ga.; sister, Sam DeLaney and her husband, Larry, of Nevada; grandchildren, Suzanne Williams, and Emma, Madelyn, and Braden Ellis, and Alyvia Mills; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for Linda Joy Craig will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nevada with the Rev. Chris Deines officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m., just prior to the service also at the church.
