A Friday foot pursuit through a Nevada neighborhood led to the arrest of a Bates County man on several charges, including burglary.

The Nevada Police Department said Monday that Cory F. Harper, 24, of Rich Hill, was arrested Friday, after his alleged involvement in an apartment burglary.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of North Cedar, around 1:30 p.m., after a neighbor witnessed an individual forcibly entering an apartment. With a witness description, officers conducted a neighborhood search.

An officer located Harper several blocks from the scene, where he then attempted to flee on foot, before being captured by officers.

The police department said several of the stolen items, which had been cast away during the foot pursuit, were recovered.
