Nevada baseball earns top district seed

The Nevada Tigers varsity baseball team drew the top seed in the Class 4, District 12 Tournament, which is scheduled to be played May 17-21, at Bolivar, Mo.

After the 14-3 Tigers, Clinton is the second seed, followed by the Liberators, Warrensburg, Harrisonville and Buffalo. Nevada and Clinton received first-round byes and will play in the semi-finals May 19, the Tigers against the winner of a game between Warrensburg and Harrisonville, which will be played at noon, May 17, and Clinton against the winner of the Bolivar-Buffalo game, which is set for 2 p.m., the same day.

The tournament's championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m., May 21, with the District 12 champion set to host the winner of the District 11 Tournament, at Monett, in the first round of the state tournament, on May 27.

Carl Junction is the No. 1 seed in the District 11 Tournament.
