Domestic assault arrest made by Nevada Police

Nevada, Mo. -- Nevada Police report that they have concluded an investigation into a felony domestic assault case that occurred during the evening hours of May 23. The reported assault occurred in an apartment building located in the 800 block of E. Ashland.

A passerby reported to police that a 35-year-old female was seen to be the victim of domestic violence when she was struck in the face and choked by a male apartment occupant. Moments later, investigating Nevada Police Officers arrested the primary physical aggressor who was identified as a 51-year-old Nevada resident Billy Joe Fahnestock.

Billy Joe Fahnestock was arrested without incident and transported to the Vernon County Jail on the following charge issued by the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court:

Domestic Assault 2nd Degree -- Class C Felony.

The arrested subject is being held on a $10,000 cash only bond.
