The Cottey College Comets cross country team and head coach Austin Bunn have added another name to their list of signees for the program's inaugural season. Chase Burns comes to the Comets from Wheaton High School, in Wheaton, Mo., with a substantial amount of experience and success in the sport under her belt. She is a four-time state qualifier, and was a district champion in 2010 and 2013. She earned All-District honors four times and played an integral role in the three team district championships Wheaton won during her tenure. She was also the Ozark 7 Runner of the Year, her senior year. "Chase come to us from Wheaton High School where she has seen a lot of success," Bunn said. "Chase brings a great personality, along with a hard-working mentality to Cottey, to help us continue to build up the program for our first year in the fall. I look forward to helping her continue to develop as a great runner and expand upon the success she has seen at the high school level." Submitted Photo
