Robert E. Butler, 52, of Nevada, died on Friday, June 6, 2014, in Nevada, following an illness of several months. He was born on Dec. 30, 1961, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Kenny N. Butler Sr. and Betty J. (Gire) Butler.

Robbie was raised in Nevada and was a member of the Nevada High School class of 1980. He was a truck driver most of his working life. He was a member of Nevada Bass Casters, El Dorado Bass Club, and the APA Bush Pool League. Robbie loved NASCAR, hunting and fishing, enjoyed golfing, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was also a member of the First Christian Church, in Nevada.

He is survived by two brothers, William E. "Sonny" Butler and his wife, Kathy, of Nevada and Kenneth N. "Junior" Butler, of Clinton, Okla.; one sister, Teresa A. Butler, Nevada; his companion, Jeanie Allen, of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews including Jennifer Zermeno and her husband, Cesar, of Nevada, Jay Butler and his wife, Amanda, of Springfield, Mo., Heather Butler and Felicia Butler, Clinton, Okla., and Colton Butler, Nevada. Also surviving are five great-nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.,Tuesday.
