Six people were examined at Nevada Regional Medical Center Sunday following a two-car accident in southeast Vernon County.

The accident involved two county drivers and their five passengers around 10:20 p.m. on E Highway, three miles west of Montevallo.

According to a crash report by Trooper Jason Krehbiel, a westbound Oldsmobile driven by 77-year-old Berta Weddle, of Nevada, crossed the centerline. It then hit, head-on, a Cadillac operated by 26-year-old Milo man Lawrence Corley.

Weddle and a passenger in her vehicle, 65-year-old Sheila Harper, also of Nevada, were transported by ambulance to NRMC with minor injuries.

Corley, along with three of his four passengers, were treated at NRMC as well. James Bushnell, 5, of Milo, Darrius Corley, 14, of Oklahoma City, and Caleb Hunt, 13, of El Dorado Springs were taken by ambulance to the medical facility. Hunt and Helen Corley, 24, of Milo, were deemed to have no injuries. Bushnell, Darrius Corley and Lawrence Corley were treated for minor injuries.

Damage to both vehicles was considered "extensive."
