The Deerfield Board of Trustees took its July meeting to the streets to examine a culvert on Pecan Street needing repair.

The trustees agreed the culvert was a traffic hazard that needed immediate attention and closed the road immediately. The repair cost limit was set to $5,000.

Clerk Bill Smith took charge of obtaining material to put up roadblocks at 2nd and 3rd streets as well as placing heavy objects at the culvert in case someone goes around the barricades.

In other business, the trustees discussed the need for new tables and chairs for the community center.

Trustee David Prickett agreed to check prices on 12 tables and 40 chairs.

In the May treasurer's report, the income for May was less than $1,000, and the address for Deerfield is Box 83.
