Emily and Matthew Wopata

Emily Lynn Benbrook and Matthew John Wopata were united in marrige on June 7, at the United Methodist Church, of Nevada. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Benbrook, of Nevada, and Mr. and Mrs. John Wopata, of Kansas City, Mo.

The candlelit ceremony was solemnized before family and friends by the Rev. Steve Doss, of Kansas City, Mo. Proceeding the ceremony, candles were lit by Lindley Ferry, cousin of the bride.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a JLM Couture Tara Keely dress of ivory tulle and lace. The exquisite gown was a fit and flare, strapless with a sweetheart bodice, natural waist and chapel train. Her veil was cathedral-length sheer illusion richly bordered with imported French re-embroidered Alencon lace and was previously worn by her mother. The bride chose to wear an antique pearl necklace that had once been her great-grandmother's. She carried a simple bouquet of pale pink roses and white calla lilies.

Audrey Danner, of Columbia, Mo., served as maid of honor. Katie Lineberry, of St. Louis, served as matron of honor. Other bridesmaids included Lindsey Benbrook, of Sedalia, Mo., sister-in-law of the bride; Laura Fenstad, of Dallas, Texas; and Julia Wopata, of Kansas City, sister of the groom. The bridesmaids wore teal blue A-line dresses featuring a lattice woven neckline. The bridesmaid's bouquets were complementary to the bride's with white hydrangeas, pink roses, and pink peonies.

Serving as best man to the groom was Brandon Cooper, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Groomsmen were Daniel Wopata, of Dallas, Texas, brother of the groom; Mark Wopata, of Louisville, Ky., brother of the groom; Kyle Wopata, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., cousin of the groom; and Scott Benbrook, of Sedalia, Mo., brother of the bride.

Seating the guests were Joseph Ferry and Patrick Ferry, cousins of the bride. Serving as guest book attendants were Lauren Compton, Elisha Ellis, Kara Foster, and Tabitha Matthews, all friends of the bride.

An outdoor reception followed at the Nevada Country Club. After a honeymoon to Costa Rica, the couple now resides in Kansas City, Mo.
