Johnna Franks

Johnna Franks, 65, Cimarron, Kan., died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

She was born Nov. 1, 1948, at Independence, Kan., the daughter of Johnnie and Norma (Marlett) Carroll. She graduated high school in Fredonia, Kan., and for 30 years was a convenience store manager. On June 28, 1970, she married Larry Franks at Fredonia. She and Larry moved to Cimarron from Great Bend, Kan., and had spent the last three years RVing full-time. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards.

She was a member of the Great Bend Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband, Larry, Cimarron; two sons, Alex Franks and wife, Melissa, El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Johnnie Franks, Sedan, Kan.; two daughters, Sharon Hoskinson and husband, Shannon, and Kim Becker and husband, Bobby, all of Cimarron; a brother, Jim Carroll and wife, Betty, Great Bend; her aunt, Helena Dalton, Fredonia; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 13, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Chris Deines officiating. There will be viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron. Burial will be in the Welborn Cemetery, Moundville, Mo.
