Amendment No. 3 -- not a good thing for local schools
Dear Editor:
On Oct. 1, Proposed Amendment No. 3 was printed in the Nevada paper. I advise everyone to read this, as I understand only part of the Amendment No. 3 will be on the ballot. It is very confusing. I have talked to several teachers, and school board members and one state representative. I advise the voters to do the same; because we will lose local control if this Amendment No. 3 passes.
I think, in the closing weeks of the campaign, there will be a lot of money put in TV advertisements. I ask every voter to make up his or her own mind and vote on Nov. 4.
I have always been a strong supporter of public schools and I trust local teachers and local school boards.
For these reasons I will vote no on Amendment No. 3 on Nov. 4.
