Nevada student Chloe Bartlett won America's U.S. Miss Missouri Teen 2014 and, to make the weekend complete, also won World's Glamorous Miss Missouri Teen 2014.

The competitions were Oct. 18, at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo.

"They (Miss Missouri Teen) also held another pageant simultaneously that we had not planned to enter," said mom Lori of her daughter's double victory.

The World's Glamorous Miss Pageant is a modeling with interview competition in which top model agents scout for print and runway.

"This interview was a panel style, which is Chloe's favorite so we decided to enter," said Lori. Chloe ended up doing two different style interviews with two sets of judges.

The night of the stage competition she only had to perform once in personality wear and evening gown, but with two different sets of judges on each side of the stage.

"Even though Chloe loves to sing, we just didn't have the time to put together a new music routine that she would feel comfortable with in two weeks," noted Lori.

"She loves to also enter actress competitions, where you learn a commercial and act to present it. Unfortunately, we did not have time to get our new commercial act together in time."

Chloe did enter sportswear and won that category. She also won first and second in photogenic.

She was awarded Most Promising Model, and also the Most Beautiful award. With the finalists on the stage, she was awarded Best Interview, and Best Personality Wear.

Since Chloe won two titles, she will be competing in two different national pageants.

America's U.S. Miss Teen Pageant is July 6-12 in Clearwater Beach, Fla.

The World's Glamorous Miss Teen Pageant is Aug. 4-8 in Las Vegas, Nev.

For the younger Bartlett, pageants are still a relatively new experience.

Chloe has only been in pageants for two years. During that time, she won Miss Merry Christmas in Lamar, and was fourth runner-up to National American Miss Missouri. She won Casual Wear, Photogenic, Academic Achievement, and was third runner-up in talent (vocal performance).

Even so, she has the voice of experience right in the family.

"Being a former Miss Missouri USA 1990, I was hesitant for my girls to be in pageants," said Lori.

"A lot has changed and younger girls' pageants have become focused on completely changing the way the girls look, from heavy stage makeup to fake teeth. I didn't want my girls to be exploited like that and chose to keep them from them.

"Later, if they showed an interest in them and wanted to enter one, I was going to let them but they had to get grandma involved. That's a funny story all on its own. So they chose the natural beauty pageants involved in scholarships, which help toward college tuition."

Chloe will travel Missouri during the year of her reign, making appearances, speaking, singing, and volunteering.

"Any local organizations that would like her to come and make an appearance and speak or volunteer, please contact us on Facebook," said Lori.
