After crushing Joplin South 56-3 in their previous outing, the Nevada Middle School seventh-grade girls continued their winning ways with a 45-4 road victory, Thursday evening over Joplin East.

With the victory, Nevada moves to 6-1 on the season.

"This was another game where we took advantage of our aggressiveness in the passing lanes and came up with some easy steals, which led to layups," Nevada head coach Danny Penn said.

Two Nevada players scored in double-figures, as point guard Calli Beshore dropped in 11 points, and post player Jadeann Highley finished with 10. In addition, Teagan Charles and Lani Coonrod chipped in with 8 points apiece.

"In the second half, we worked a lot on running our offense and improving our execution," Penn said. "I was happy with our ball movement and passing in the second half."

The NMS B-team won 12-2, only playing two quarters. The B-team was led by Lindley Ferry who scored 4 points.
