Mrytle Allene Tye

Mrytle Allene Tye, 81, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada, after a lengthy illness. Allene was born March, 16, 1933, in Sheldon, Mo., to Earl Robert Jones and Iva Marie (Tyree) Jones. She was united in marriage to Raymond C.Tye on Dec. 5, 1974, in Miami, Okla., and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Allene was raised in Vernon County and attended Nevada High School, graduating with the Class of 1951. Following graduation she operated a boarding home in Nevada for several years. Allene was also a foster parent for a number of years, helping many children in the Nevada area. She attended the First Assembly of God Church, in Nevada.

Allene enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and being with her family -- especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Bennett, Nevada; three grandchildren, Dillon Bennett, Shane Bennett and Courtney Bennett, all of Nevada; two sisters, Mamie Skinner, Ocala, Fla., and Bonnie VanWee, Aurora, Mo.; two brothers, Norman Jones, Weirsdale, Fla., and Leo Jones, Nevada; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Lee Jones and David Earl Galloway; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, at Ferry Funeral Home.
