Sheldon dropped a pair of games Tuesday night to visiting Golden City, with the boys falling in a close outing, 47-43, and the girls tumbling 50-29.

In the boys' game, the teams were knotted at the first break at 12 apiece.

The teams were even again in the second period, although the visitors managed to squeak out a 21-20 halftime lead.

A 12-7 edge in the third put the Panthers in a 33-27 deficit.

The hosts put together a 16-point fourth-quarter but it wasn't enough to pull back.

Micah Swanson's 16 points led Sheldon, with Kaleb Martin's eight following and Trenton Heckadon adding five, Cody Hicks and George Shelton four each and Zavery Lamb and Jacob McCartney chipping in three apiece.

In the girls' game, Golden City led at each break, taking a 10-6 first-quarter lead, building that to 26-12 at the half and 36-20 with one quarter left.

Logan Lamb put in 13 points for the Panthers, with Alicia Baney adding eight, Amy Brzuchowski and Kylie Leavell three and Lindsey Turner two.
