Delores I. Divine, 75, of Grove, Okla., formerly of Columbus, Kan., died at 11 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the Grove Integris Hospital, in Grove, Okla She was born Jan. 2, 1939, in rural Columbus, Kan., the daughter of Lindel "Bud" and May I. (Alley) Cowan.

Delores attended elementary school four miles southwest of Keelville, Kan., then attended Columbus Junior and High Schools.

She married David "Paul" Divine on Sept. 12, 1953, in Columbus, Kan. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2003. Delores and Paul were the fifth generation in a row on her side of the family to celebrate a 50th year anniversary.

Delores didn't work until the children had grown then she began working for a doctor then a nursing home where she was a medication aide in LaCygne, Kan., where they lived for 28 years. They returned to Columbus in 1991, where Delores worked at Dollar General before retiring to Grove, Okla., in 2001.

Delores was an avid reader and music lover. She loved spending time with her family and her granddaughters. Laughter was always in the home during family get-togethers. Her wit, wisdom and humor will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Divine and wife, Lorrie, of Moundville, Mo., Duke Divine and wife, Terrie, of Grand Anse Grenada, West Indies; a daughter, Denise I. Winn and husband, Kent, of Grove, Okla.; granddaughter, Danielle Still and husband, Josh, with her two great-granddaughters, Brianna and Madison, of Exeter, Mo., and granddaughter, Kendra Flattem and husband, Matt, of Verona, Mo.; and a brother, Larry Cowan and wife, Louisa, of San Antonio, N.M.

Delores was a loving mother and a loving and fun grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a daughter, Donna Marie Divine.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 19, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, in Columbus, with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home where friends may call after 9 a.m., Thursday.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Cherokee County Genealogy Society, or a book may be purchased at the Columbus Public Library in Delores's name. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 611 S. East Ave., Columbus, Kan.
